About EDF

As a major player in energy transition, the EDF Group is an integrated energy company active in all businesses: generation, transmission, distribution, energy trading, energy sales and energy services. EDF group is a world leader in low-carbon energy, having developed a diverse production mix based mainly on nuclear and renewable energy (including hydropower). It is also investing in new technologies to support energy transition. EDF’s raison d’être is to build a net zero energy future with electricity and innovative solutions and services, to help save the planet and drive well-being and economic development. The Group is involved in supplying energy and services to approximately 37.9 million customers (1), of whom 28.7 million in France (2). It generated consolidated sales of €69.0 billion in 2020. EDF is listed on the Paris Stock Exchange.

EDF group is operating in Poland since 1998.

Up to 2017, EDF invested in Poland in electricity, heat cogeneration and distribution assets and was a major player in the Polish energy sector: 3rd electricity producer, 2 district heating producers and 1st cogenerator (heat + electricity). In 2017 EDF SA sold its shares in EDF Polska which had a strong carbon footprint not consistent with the strategy of the Group.

EDF Group is still active in Polish energy market through its affiliates:

- Dalkia Polska provides its customers with a full range of energy services: from management and optimization of heating and cooling networks, use of local energy resources to energy efficiency services for buildings and industrial installations. Dalkia accompanies its customers in energy transition through production of utilities for industry using renewable and recovered energy and energy efficiency of industrial processes.

- EDF Fenice Poland offers a wide range of services (electricity, heating, compressed air, water treatment, environmental services, etc.) for industrial zones located mainly in Tychy, Bielsko Biała, Rzeszów and Krosno.

- EDF EN Polska develops wind and photovoltaic farms and builds wind farms of 70 MW. It has successfully developed and sold offshore wind farms in Poland with a capacity of over 100 MW.

Currently the Polish companies of the EDF Group employ about 900 people in Poland and generate annual turnover of PLN 550 million.

The EDF Group is strongly committed to the Polish Nuclear Program from the beginning, which is why it inaugurated a nuclear office in Warsaw in July 2021 and submitted to Polish Authorities a preliminary offer in October 2021.

EDF aims to become the strategic partner for the Polish Nuclear Program and to prepare a detailed offer for 4-6 EPR units into the Polish Nuclear Power Program which is one of the most ambitious in Europe.
